The University of Toledo is a student-centered, public metropolitan research university with 23,000 students and picturesque campuses recognized nationally for their beauty. The University of Toledo is one of 13 state universities in Ohio. We were established in 1872 and became a member of the state university system in 1967. The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged July 2006 to form the third-largest public university operating budget in the state.

The University of Toledo Health Science Campus is home to UT Medical Center hospitals and clinics and many of UT's health-science research and education programs that are teaching the next generation of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
The Main Campus located along the banks of the Ottawa River in a residential section of the city, features nine modern residence halls, a gothic bell tower, a Student Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art classroom center in one of our original buildings, Memorial Field House, opening fall 2008, and a football stadium and new Savage Hall basketball and athletic complex, set to open fall 2008.
The Health Science Campus is home to UT Medical Center hospitals and clinics UT's health-science research and education programs of the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and other healthcare professions. It is also the home of The Center for Creative Instruction (CCI) an award winner center dedicated to developing innovative applications to support teaching and learning. The health Science Campus is also home of the UT Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center, offering innovative treatments for strokes and cancer found nowhere else in the state.
At UT, we have researchers working at all levels — from undergraduates to faculty — toward our mission of improving the human condition. In fact, their combined, efforts have led to 125 patents and nearly $60 million in funding and grants.
